I accidentally planned to visit this place in my recent trip to Canacona. I don't have any words to express how I enjoyed and am proud of myself for this decision! It was a solo trip, and the day I visited this place, there was heavy rain. Riding a bike (20 km) inside the sanctuary was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would cherish for a long time.
A visit during the monsoon season is highly recommended. They also offer ecostays within the sanctuary. A must visit for nature lovers.
A great place to unwind with nature. The forest department has put out a few marked trails through the forest (1-2km trails). There's one leading to a tree house by a watering hole.
To have any chance of seeing deer or other wildlife, you've got to spend some time and a bit of luck. But even without sighting, it's a beautiful walk in the woods.
For overnight stays, the department has 4 cottages and a dorm. Not 5 star of course but very decent - clean with food at the canteen. If you want 5star stick with the beaches :|
A jungle straight from Steven Spielberg film. Spotted a Leopard chilling on the road literally, when we went without tickets. Next day we did a proper safari to the tree top and encountered some beautiful flora. A beautiful example of humans and wild coexisting.
Wildlife for sure will live in peace at this sanctuary as the forest department and the natives take good care to keep the flora & fauna, undisturbed!
RK, a passionate nature conservator is the right guide to connect an outsider with the abundance of nature in this sanctuary!

A good place to visit forest. This sanctuary is not that famous hence the place is not crowded. If you are a wildlifer then this place is excellent fir you. You can stay at forest guest house which is there at the entrance of the sanctuary. Also you can stay at home stay which are there right next to the sanctuary. I stayed at nature’s harmony which is 2 min walking from entrance gate. Food is available at canteen which is not that good but should not complain about it as your priority should be visiting forest here. Overall place is good at least one time you should visit this

Green forest reserve in South Goa.
Must visit during monsoon to see Goa at its greenest best. Clean & maintained well.
There are few waterfalls inside. There are approach roads inside the reserves with waterfalls close to the roads. So many picnic goers enjoy it, especially during monsoon.
We had taken a 35 seater bus inside the reserve to Kuskem waterfall in the month of August for a monsoon trek organised by Green Riders and Trekkers. There are proper sign boards to direct route inside the forest. Network is faint or zero inside the forest reserve.
Very less food options better to carry your own food. You may get tea and light snacks.
